The 54th District covers an area including parts of northeast Independence, Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Oak Grove, mostly north of Interstate 70 between Missouri 291 and the east Jackson County line. A significant number of 54th District residents in Blue Springs live north of I-70 and south of I-70 on either side of Woods Chapel Road, roughly between Emerald Shore Drive and Missouri 7.
